This holiday season, the Erie City Mission is inviting you to join us in the mission of Restoring Hope and Transforming Lives.

Box of Love

Love in Every Box, Hope in Every Meal

For over 15 years the Mission has worked together with hundreds of volunteers and community partners to distribute more than 1,000 Thanksgiving meals annually during it's Turkey Bag Distribution. As we prepare for this upcoming holiday season, we are thrilled to announce this year's revitalized Thanksgiving outreach - Box of Love!

The Mission will continue to provide all the fixings for a traditional Thanksgiving meal for a family of 4-5 people, with a renewed focus on supporting a fun, family-oriented holiday feast.

Fill a Box, make a donation, or volunteer on the day of the event!

Serve a Holiday Meal

Help us serve a very special meal to the community that utilizes our public meal program! We will need 50+ volunteers for each of the holiday meals that we serve.

These special holiday meals will include full service seated meal. Volunteers are needed to help prepare the meal, show people to their table, serve food, drinks, and desserts to guests, and buss tables.

• Thanksgiving Lunch: Wednesday, November 27
• Christmas Lunch: Monday, December 23

Join the Mission’s team of volunteers as we show honor and kindness to each person receiving a meal.

Host a Donation Drive

The winter can display some of the harshest weather conditions for our neighbors who are homeless. Help us provide them with the supplies that they need by hosting donation drive.

In addition to the items listed at the link below, the men and women we serve need the following:

• Hand and boot warmers
• Hats, gloves, scarves
• Winter coats
• Winter boots
• Winter socks
• Thermal underwear
• Sleeping Bags
• Blankets

Decorate the Mission

Help us make the mission feel homey and festive through decorations!

Here are some ways that you can help us with this:

• Color Thanksgiving or Christmas placemats! More information coming soon.
• Decorate a Wall of Gratitude and a Wall of Joy!
• Create and donate simple table centerpieces that can go in our dining hall.
• Donate wreaths that can be used around all of the facilities.
• Decorate Christmas trees.
• And more!

While all of these decorations go up, we will also need help taking it down.
